I was born near Mannsville Oklahoma on a farm the son of Alonzo and Pauline Barnes. I spent 33 years as a union sprinkler fitter taking an early retirement in 1999, I am now employed part time as an instructor for local 669 Apprenticeship Committee. Judy and I enjoy traveling and spending time with our grand children. I am somewhat into genealogy and enjoy “the hunt”, Judy doesn’t share my passion but gracefully tolerates the trips to the cemeteries etc. At an early age I developed an interest in music, my dad and his brothers played some. In my teenage years I of course went through my electric phase but in the late 60s when the movie “Bonnie & Clyde” came out, I just knew I had to be a banjo picker. I have been playing acoustic “bluegrass” style music since about 1970. I will eventually have pages about that on our site.
